The artist has handed over the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound honor prize money to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the United Kingdom's independent music venues.

Fender was presented with the award on October 16 as his new release the album was named the best record of the last 12 months.

The musician has chosen to give the cash to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the crucial part grassroots venues fulfilled in his beginning days.

"As an artist would not have achieved this success if it hadn't been for all the shows I played around the area, and beyond, when I was beginning," remarked the artist. "These locations are iconic, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, at least 150 of these locations have shut down – about 16 percent of the entire UK sector.

Over the past year, top acts such as Pulp, the group Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its efforts to support the industry, by including a small levy to their admission fees, which benefits independent venues.

He also took part, collecting more than £100,000 on his recent tour to assist thirty-eight grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.

The donation assisted locations that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties stemming from flooding, fire incidents and personal losses, as well as regulatory hurdles, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Some locations received financial assistance in improving amenities and technical equipment that directly benefitted performers and fans.

"The idea that funds from concerts in big venues helps the local stages, where it kicks off for performers like me, is just common sense," Sam Fender has said.

Two years ago, the band gave their winnings to the local youth club that developed their group, alongside other local music groups.

Also 1994 winners they gave their award to a MS organization after a close contact was identified with the condition.

"Winning was sufficient," said vocalist Heather Small. "The cash was the extra but we didn't need the extra, because we had the honor. So our winning touched another person's life."

Recently, the Music Venues Trust announced it had saved several grassroots venues in south-east England, by transferring them to local control.

The first in Southampton and the other in Bristol were acquired under the public acquisition program, which is backed by a national body and music fans who buy "ownership units" in the buildings.
